New Hall Tree Turned Old!

Yup, this is a piece of furniture that most people would LOVE just as it is!  But, this is going in Heidi's house and she likes things to look old.  So, here is the before of this Pier 1 Hall Tree...
And after it's been aged to perfection!
Heidi wanted the mirror to look old too, so I googled "Acid Mirror" just to see what I could find.  What do you know but another blogger from St. George, Utah  has some amazing mirrors she's done and instructions on how to do them!  Thanks Mandy @ Vintage Revivals! She's even been on the Nate Berkus Show with her mirrors!  You go girl!

After I took the above pictures I decided to make the hooks look "rusty".  I think it's the perfect final touch!

Chippy Hutch

 Sold!

The handles and dresser top look black, but they're actually a dark brown with a black glaze.  They look gorgeous with the green.
I'm a little hesitant to show the before of this piece.  It's pretty bad.  Like hideous & gross, but I don't want the previous shape to keep someone from buying it.  I gave it a good bath before the refinish started.

Heidi's Kitchen

Heidi & her husband bought a gorgeous home with a dream backyard and decided to remodel before moving.  I can't wait to see the end result because she has an amazing vision.  Cheetah carpet in the game room?  Lucky kids!  All the cabinets in the home (and there are a lot!) are a light wood.  She decided to refinish them all super distressed.  I was able to do the kitchen and part of the laundry room and she is working on all the others.  So, I have some sneak peak pics of the kitchen cabinets.
The island and bar are this amazing green to compliment the black cabinets.

Since the painters were coming in after me, I didn't worry too much about overspray.  I'm sure they'll be so happy with me. :)
The laundry room is a warm red.

My favorite cabinets are a dark teal Heidi has finished.  I think they're going upstairs in a desk area and bathroom.  I'll post more pictures soon!

Cream & Teal Table & Chairs

This set makes me want to redo my kitchen and dining area. These colors are so fun!

Armoire

I know I seem like a broken record with my white armoirs but there is a reason.  Number one:  What if I decide I want it?!  (which I do but it weighs so much I don't dare tell my husband he has to carry it upstairs & switch it with the one up there). Number two:  I get a lot of requests for these in white.  There are so many fun colors out there, but white and black are still the most popular.  With some basic colored furniture you can change the wall colors and decor without needing new furniture.  So, it's practical too. :) That's my excuse & I'm stickin' to it!

Who doesn't love shutters?  Why doesn't all furniture have these?

Some teal fabric for a little fun when you open the doors!

This thing is really heavy, solid wood, and beautiful!  What's not to love?

Before...
At one point in time, there must have been drawers in here.  I added a shelf and a fabric lined back to make it a little more functional.

Dumpster Headboard to Hanging Shelf

Here we have a crappy headboard, pulled from the dumpster.  Not a mystery how it ended up there, right? So my brilliant client found it and thought it would make a cool GIGANTIC shelf for an office.

Here it is with the bottom portion cut off.

I'm always in such a hurry that I forget to take pictures along the way.  I added bead board to the top, bottom, and sides.  I also found some trim I used to make false drawers, and added a strip of wood along the bottom for hooks. I wish the pictures captured the size of it.  It looks awesome!
Here my cute son & husband are holding it for me.  As soon as it's hung in it's new office, I will share the pictures.  I bet the person who threw this in the dumpster never dreamed it had such a promising future!
