Black Dresser & Nightstand

Did I mention I've converted from spray paint to a sprayer?  I'm now using lacquer paint and finish which is what cabinet shops and furniture companies use.  The end result is this silky smooth finish that just gorgeous!  I've never had much success with acrylic paint (water based).  It just doesn't stick to the furniture!  It ends up peeling and chipping.  So I am IN LOVE with the new sprayer and having so much fun!  And, my pieces are now even more durable!!!

Sorry if it seems like I'm on a strictly black and white thing lately.  I guess I kind of am!  But, my next project will be a bright and cheery kitchen!

A couple of sorry looking castaways, right?

Well, now they make a great pair! 

Sometimes it's hard to know when to stop, when refinishing furniture.  This piece looked amazing in just gray, and then even better with the white glaze.  I was really tempted to stop there because it looked so classy.  But this was a custom order and she wanted distressed, so I went for it.  It went from classy to PERFECT!  This is my first gray piece, but it's not going to be my last!  I really, really, love it!

This is kind of a different style for me.  I like some of the stuff Brooke at "All Things Thrifty" does and so I decided to try out her black glaze technique.  I think I like it? It's just way different than my usual, but different is good, right?

Man this thing was ugly before!  Anything would have been an improvement!
